A Devotional for the Chronically Distracted

Five minutes with God. Or four. Or two and a half before you remember you left the stove on.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Not in a dramatic, crisis-of-faith kind of way — more in the way you think about something when you keep bumping into it in your everyday life.

It started with a small thing. Most things do. A conversation, a moment, a sentence in a book that lodged itself in my brain and wouldn't leave.

I don't have a tidy conclusion for you. I'm still in the middle of figuring this out. But I think that's okay. I think God meets us in the middle of things, not just at the end of them.

So here we are. In the middle. Together. And I think that's actually a pretty good place to be.
